I had another chance to get up and talk at the recent Codepen, mainly as we had a cancellation from one of the other speakers. Luckily enough I had been working in a little pet project, so I was able to quickly put something together.
I had been working on a little project implementing an genetic algorithms/evolutionary computing technique in Unity3D. The idea is to see if I could recreate called BoxCar2D in 3D.
As part of my talk I introduced the idea of evolutionary computing and how genetic algorithms can be used to solve optimisation problems. I showed a demo of BoxCar2D and also some examples based on Dawkin’s ‘METHINK IT IS LIKE A WEASEL’ programme. I finished off the talk with a demo of my project which was made in Unity3D.
